NUMERICAL MODEL OF RESERVOIR PALEOSTRESS FIELD

Based on paleotectonic deformation, a methodology including inverse and forward method is used to investigate reservoir paleostress field. The content is (1) Inverse the boundary forces and local stresses of reservoir paleotectonic surface by use of the thin plate trend model. (2) Use the result from (1) asthe boundary condition, and build a combined element model to calculate reservoir paleotectonic stress field. (3) Use the result from (1) as boundary condition, then build a solid element 3D model with active faults to calculate reservoir paleotectonic stress field. (4) Application and inspection of these 3 models.
