Study on the short-term anomaly characteristics of the digital water levels Hebei Province——A case study of Tangshan M_S 4.2 earthquake

On Sep.10, 2016, the M_S 4.2 earthquake occurred in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The anomalous changes of water level in the underground fluid observation wells in Hebei Province are studied. The results show that:(1) The anomalous change of the water level in the epicenter area is generally slow, and the anomalous change of the water level in the Epicenter periphery is generally the sudden change;(2) The closer the epicenter to the observation wells, the earlier the water level anomaly occurs, and the longer the abnormal duration;(3) Near the earthquake, the abnormal water level of observation wells have the tendency to spread from the epicenter to the periphery;(4) The maximum amplitude of abnormal water level have little relationship with the distance between wells and earthquake.
