DAMAGE ANALYSIS OF ROCK UNDER COMPRESSION

Damage mechanics method (CDM) has been largely applied in research on problems about creep and fracture of materials including metal, cement and compound material. The rock's behavior of breaking under compression condition is analyzed with damage mechanics method in this paper. Damage evolvement is an in-reversible process of material's inner structure. Damage variable, like plastic deformation, is one of the inner variables. Based on experiment data, this paper deduces the evolution curve of damage variable about some kind of marble and the relation between damage and stress, expecting to research on the localization behavior of rock deformation by damage mechanics method.
