AbstrcatThe risk assessment is the pre-evaluation for debris flow disasters. It is important in disaster relief and prevention. The artificial neural network (ANN) has good processing ability to the non-linear information so that it is suitable for solving the index complexity and fuzzy problem. According to the factual case analyses, the trained ANN is applicable to estimate the risk of debris flows. Combining of ANN with traditional mathematic method, the risk assessment technique of debris flow may develop further.
