Based on the different degree of saturation of the Engineering soil which experienced extreme rainfall in the reservoir area of Chongqing,using the large finite element analysis software GEO-SLOPE to simulate,applying strength reduction to analysis the stability of the deposits.The results show that: due to the natural water content,a certain amount of rainfall in the early stage will reinforce its stability,but under the extreme rainfall,the high-intensity rainfall makes the deposits to achieve saturation rapidly,low-intensity rainfall which lasted a long time makes the deposits to achieve saturation longer,ultimately stability of the deposits reduced,and case occurrence of landslide.
