A Study of Ridge Coefficient Gaining Based on Principle of Image Classification

Employing the 2.5m resolution SPOT-5 remote sensing image of Yangxin County of Huangshi City and choosing 6 typical farming-land polygon areas,this paper classifies the chosen polygon areas,calculates the ridge coefficient based on element classification and object-oriented classification,and compares the calculation result with the field survey one.The research shows that the ridge coefficient obtained through image classification principle is consistent with the field survey result.Taking the advantage of considering more land cover object information,the one obtained through object-oriented classification method acquires better accuracy.
