APPLICATION OF MPV-3 MICROPHOTOMETER IN GEMOLOGY

This paper briefly introduces the characteristics of MPV 3 microphotometer.It elaborates the basic theory and the method of the evaluation of gem colour.It discusses MPV 3 microphotometer applications in the evaluation of gem colour,the judgement of colour alteration effect,barklyite designation and variety distinguish are distinction.It disscusses MPV 3 microphotometer through the colour evaluation and the evaluation of colour alteration effect of colorless beryl in Pingwu,Sichuan Province and sapphire in Changle,Shandong Province,as well as the luminosity study of different genesis natural barklyite and cossembled barklyite.
