Progress and Developing Tendency of Sedimentary Laboratory Experiments Technique

Sedimentary laboratory experiments describe physical process of sediment in laboratory.On the basis of current study progresses,the development of sedimentary laboratory experiments technique is divided into four stages: 1) primary stage with observing and describing sedimentary phenomenon;2) fast developing stage characterized on the research of bottom configuration;3)sand-bodies simulation stage for the sedimentary process of sand-body;and 4) semiquantitative-quantitative simulation stage focusing on the detailed description of sand-bodies.After the brief introduction of some important international and domestic sedimentary simulation laboratories,a summary is made on the research of sedimentary physical simulation experiments of domestic experts based on different sedimentary facies types,such as alluvial fan,delta and fan delta.Finally,it is pointed out the developing tendency of sedimentary laboratory experiments technique is a quantitative research.
