Diagenetic Sequence Stratigraphy of Carboniferous Bioclastic Limestone Member in Central Tarim Basin

Taking Carboniferous bioclastic limestone member in Tarim Basin as the research object,this paper studies diagenetic sequence stratigraphy in the area.Based on drilling,logging,and other information,the bioclastic limestone was divided into one third-sequence.The transgressive system tract and highstand system tract were identified and the lowstand systems tract was not developed.Transgresive system tract was defined as an open carbonate platform deposition,and highstand system tract as tidal flat deposition with a barrier coast.The relationship between diageness and sequence stratigraphic framework is studied from three perspectives: penecontemporaneous dolomitization,meteoric corrosion and cementation on the sea bed.Penecontemporaneous dolomitization of highstand system tracts has been analyzed via the study of electron probe and the components of oxygen and carbon isotopic.The study confirms that carbonate rocks were formed because of meteoric corrosion in the upper part of highstand system tracts and that cementation on the sea bed has taken shape in the middle and bottom part of transgressive system tracts.Thorough analysis has been made on diagenetic sequence stratigraphy of carboniferous bioclast limestone member in terms of the influence of three major types of diageneses on system tracts in the sequence.It is suggested that the carbonate rocks of meteoric corrosion serve as favorable hydrocarbon bearing space.
