The Classification and Minerogenic Regularity of Fluorite Deposits in China

The minerogenic regularity of fluorite depesits in China has been studied. Following types of them are recognized : those developed in acidic to intermediate acidic magmatic rocks or at their contact zones: those occurred in volcanic and semivolcanic rocks and those hosted in carbonatite or other sedimentary and volcano sedimentary rocks. Most of the deposits are located in eastern and southeastern China where the Mesozoic-Cainozo magmatic activities were happaned. All these fluorite deposits are young in their metallogenic epoch and related to the late-magmatic active process. Associated with other non metallic or metallic minerals, fluorite usually occurs as composite deposit. Distinct zoning in mineral association is distingui sed in a large mining area. The northeast trending structure in eastern China has been a favourable condition for the formation of the deposits. Rock type ,folds and faults have made a contribution to ore control. Wall rock alteration . of different types and with distinct zoning , has an important significance in exploration of fluorite deposits.
