PRELIMINARY RECOGNITION ON THE GEOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE GENESIS OF A RICH TIN ORE DEPOSIT

The Shaping tin deposit is located at the southwestern margin of the Jiangnan anteclise. Its parent rock is porphyritic biotite granite, which was formed 760m.y. ago. The tin deposit occurs along the NNE-trending fracture zone composed of metamorphic argillaceous siltstone and sandstone as well as intermediate-basic rocks such as metamorphic ignimbrite of the Sipao Group (Proterozoic).The ore consists mainly of such elements as Sn, Cu, Pb, Zn, Sb, Ag, Fe, As, In,Ga,Sc, F and B. The metallic minerals include cassiterite, arsenopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, galena, cubanite and jamesonite.The cassiterite content is directly propor tional to the pyrite and sphalerite contents,The loci and conditions favourable for ore deposition are as follows:1. The secondary overturned axial or near-axial parts af the Proterozoic EW-trending Honggangshan anticline are favourable loci for ore deposition.2. The formation temperature (homogenization temperature) ranges from 100—346℃; and the wall-rock alteration includes silicification, muscovitization and chloritization.3. There occur intermediate-basic rocks (such as metamorphic ignimbrite) which are higher in CaO, MgO and Na_2O and liable to metasomatism while around these rocks occur metamorphic argillaceous siltstone and sandstone which are low in CaO, MgO and Na_2O and liable to bring a about a weakly alkaline or neutral environment due to the decrease in pH value.
