Rapid Design Method of Flyback Switching Converter

An effective and useful design method of flyback switch power supply is proposed. This critical condition method matches the output power above 50 W flyback converter and features in (1) calculating the primary inductance in transformer under the highest input voltage and (2) validating all new parameters under the lowest input voltage, with merits of avoiding errors in the past for estimating the ripple factor before the primary inductance calculation under the lowest input voltage. Based on above method one type of 90~264 V input and 19 V output switch power supply was successfully designed. Powersim tool simulation results proved that the output voltage ripples are between maximum range of ±19.35 mV and the precisions of output voltage are in range of ±0.10%. The prototype tested results showed that the output voltage ripples are lower in values of ±3.50 mV than previous simulation results.
