A PERIOD OF FREQUENT NATURAL CALAMITIES AROUND 2000 B. C.

Ren Zhenqiu Institute of Weather and Climate Research, Academy of Meteorological Science, Beijing
The historical documents indicated a period of frequent natural calamities around 17th century. We consider that there was another period of frequent natural calamities about 1000 years ago. This paper ebumerates many archaeological materials, including spores, animals, dragon spruces, peats, carbonate depositions in the Atlantic Ocean, radioactive carbons, and earthquake records in this period. We have found out that these periods of frequent natural calamities coincide quite well with the planetary synods occurred in the winter half year and the small subtending angles of the earth center.
