Automatic Target Recognition of Radar HRRP Based on Central Moments Features

A computationally efficient method is proposed for radar high resolution range profile (HRRP) recognition.The average HRRPs are used as target aspect independent features in a small target aspect sector.And their central moments features,with translation-invariant property,are calculated for further recognition.A multi-class support vector machine (SVM) classifier is designed to classify airplane objects.The experimental comparisons based on measured data show that the proposed method achieves good classification performance despite its low computational complexity.
