Basic Characteristics of Seismic Landslides in Loess Area of Northwest China

In the light of heavy seismic landslide disasters in the loess areas of Northwest China, we studied 147 typical loess landslides caused by the 1654 Tianshui (M8.0), 1718 Tongwei (M7.5), 1920 Haiyuan (M8.5) and 1927 Gulang (M8.0) earthquakes, analyzed main landslide type and basic characteristics of seismic landslides in loess areas. The study is expected to supply scientific basis for seismic landslide disaster prevention and reduction in loess areas.
