A New Algorithm for Frequency Measurement of Power System

A new algorithm for frequency measurement of power system is introduced in this paper.Because the sinusoidal signal has a particular trait.Autocorrelation function is got by multi-layer autocorrelation calculation to the fundamental wave which is polluted by harmonic frequency、white noise and DC level.The fundamental wave frequency is detected by derivative of autocorrelation function and the principal of extreme value.Factors which affect the resolution of the measurement result are particularly discussed and analyzed.Simulation results and conclusions are given.The simulation result proves its feasibility and effectiveness to detect the fundamental wave signal.The algorithm of this paper is not sensitive to harmonic、DC interference and white noise.The algorithm has many virtues such as simple theoretic deduction and explicit physical sig-nification and it has practical value.
