A research for basic properties of several OAEs in normal hearing subjects

Abstract The basic properties of distortion product otoacoustc emissions(DPOAE),transienlyevoked OAE(TEOAE and spontaneous OAE(SOAE ) were studied in 35 normal hearingsubjects with ILO-92 Otodynamics Analyzer. The results revealed that the Dp-gram pre-sented the largest amplitude at 2f1-f2 frequency spots and gradually increased as two prima-ry tones levels increased.The threshold of DPOAE was between 20~4OdBSPL and the la-tency of DPOAE shortened when the frequencies of the stimulating tones increased. The-average Dp-gram showed two peaks at approximately 1. 4kHz and 5.6kHz,The click-evoked TEOAE were found in all of the normal ears with the stimulus level of 80dBSPL,and the average amplitudes were l0.10±3.93dBSPL(±SD,n=70).Moreover,in 20 ofthe 35 subjects the frequencies of SOAE ranged from 0.5kHz to 6kHz,and the amplitudesdistributed between -28 and 6dBDPL. By statistical analysis, the author found there existedsignificant correlations among these OAEs.
