Calculation of the Exhaust Volume of the Underground Garage and Simulation on Pollutant Dispersion Process

Five kinds of formulas commonly used to calculate ventilation rate of underground garage were analyzed. Significant differ- ences among the calculation results were gained by using different formulas. A feasible formula was recommended by comparison. Dynamic grid in CFD technology was used to simulate the dispersion process of exhaust pollutants from an idling vehicle in a large confined space. The proliferation characteristics of CO in exhaust pollutants were studied. Results show that the momentum of the vehicle exhaust is small and of low temperature. The plume formed rapidly spread after some distance, and its proliferation characteristics have great influence on the position of air distribute of the mechanical ventilation system.
