The spectroscopic properties of CeMn_xMg_(1-x)Al_11O_19 are reported. The fluores-cent spectra of CeMn_xMg_(1-x)Al_(11)O_(19) are consisted of both green and red emissionbands. The energy transfer from Mn~(2+) (green) to Mn~(2+) (red) occurs in high Mn~(2+)concentration (X≥0.4). The critical distance for energy transfer is about 0.4 nm.The energy levers diagram of Mn~(2+) (green) in the hexaaluminate is derived fromthe excitation spectra. The simulation of the experimental data led to a set of thecrystal field and Racah parameters: 10Dq=5940 cm~(-1), B=615 cm~(-1) and C=3450cm~(-1).
