Stepwise Treatment of Dye Effluent

YE Yun-fen, XI Wei-jun (Department of Chemistry, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China)  
Dye was adsorbed on surface of barium sulfate and kaolin, then COD over 10 000 mg/L in the waste water was decreased to 1 400 mg/L, furthermore, the by-product usable for making color paper was obtained. The dye effluent was successively treated by electrochemical oxidation and adsorption with absorbent carbon, then COD was decreased to 100 mg/L, So emission control standard Ⅰof waste water was achieved.
