Effects of Herbal Feed Addtives on Immunity and Growth of Monopterus Albus

300 tamed and healthy Monopterus albus with a initial weight of 13￣17g were divided intofive groups randomly, with three repetitions in each group. Four trial groups were added Poria cocos,Cortex acanthopanax senticosus , Astragalus membranaceous and the mixture of the three kinds of herbsto basic diet respectively. The Monopterus albus were fed for 30 days. The result indicated that, for thethree groups of Poria cocos, Cortex acanthopanax senticosus , Astragalus membranaceous , the phagocyticactivities of leucocytes,the lysozyme activities in the serum and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD) in M. albus were higher significantly than the control normal diet (P0.05).At the same time,compared with the control group ,the growth rate of M. albus was remarkably increased in four trialgroups (P0.05), and the effect of Cortex acanthopanax senticosus on the the growth rate was the mostobviously increased in trial groups.
