Physical Simulation and Experimental Study of Carbon Dioxide Injection into Long-Core for Oil Displacement

Demands of similar conditions for the length of the long-core, and the stage character of physicochemical process during the multiple contact miscible process as well as the complexity of its mechanism were considered when the long-core test apparatus was being researched and produced. Varied displacement experiments can be performed under reservoir conditions with this apparatus. These experiments will include waterflood or secondary recovery with gas drive, performing laboratory simulation and experimental study of tertiary recovery dynamics with injection solvent (e.g. nitrogen, hydrocarbon or carbon dioxide, etc.) or chemical oil displacement agent such as polymer, colloid dispersion gel, etc. The core of the apparatus is 2 meters long and its working pressure and working temperature is 60 MPa and 150 ℃respectively. Carbon dioxide injection displacement experiment has been performed with success by using this apparatus. Some important parameters such as pressure, recovery and phase behavior were obtained during the oil displacement process by water alternating with carbon dioxide for the reservoir fluid of Southern Wenlui Block 184.
