Reveiw on Rice Chalkiness Formation and Its Improvement

Rice chalkiness is an important index of evaluating grain quality.Chalky rice lead to poorer transparency,lower hardness,higher broken rice rate and worse market quality.We summarized cytological basis,source-sink-flow theory and genetic basis of rice chalkiness formation,.and and the effects of environmental and ecological factors on rice chalkiness formation.Then the strategies of rice chalkiness improvement were discussed.
