CORRELATION AND PATH ANALYSIS ON MAIN ECONOMIC CHARACTERS TO GRAIN YIELD FOR HIGH QUALITY VARIETIES

The correlation among main econemic characters of B high quality rice varieties and their path action to grain yield were analysed The results showed as follow:The panicle number/plant, grain number/panicle, plant height, paniclelength, grain density of panicle, seed set rate and harvest index appearedpositiye correlation to single plant grain yield, among which,grain number/panicle and panicle length arrived 5% or 1% significance level.path analysis results showed that grain number/panicle played the mostimportant role in the formation of grain yield.Seed set rate and paniclenumber/plant showed the second. The effect of seed set rate to grain yield wassignificancely. due to envirenment condition. The panicle length and graindencsity of panicle appeared high negative effect to single plant yield, butthey appeared strong positiye indirect effect to single plant yield throughaffecting grain number/panicle.There,fore, it is clear that in breeding high quality rice variety, itshould be payed attention to selecting large panicle with long panicl andhigh grain density.
