Study on Application of Modified Oyster Shell Adsorbent for Cr(Ⅵ) Wastewater

A molding material was made from oyster shell and fine silicon powder.The material was used as an adsorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) in the wastewater.In this study,the sintering temperature and hydro-thermal reaction time were investigated.Cr(VI) in wastewater was measured by the diphenylcarbazide spectrophotometric method.The microcosmic topography analysis of samples were detected by SEM.The result showed that the adsorbability of oyster shell was improved effectively after the modification by the fine silicon powder.When the optimum sintering temperature was 650℃ and the hydro-thermal reaction time was 12h,the adsorption rate of Cr(VI) reached to 91.2%.
