Study of the application property of starch-modified cationic flocculant

Cationic natural polymer modified flocculant FNQE was synthesized by putting cationic additives into the parent fraction-starch-acrylamide graft copolymer. The flocculation properties of FNQE were studied in kaolinite containing suspension. The experimental results showed that FNQE had ideal turbidity removal efficiency and its performance was superior to that of homopolyacrylamide. The remaining turbidity in the treated water decreased to 3. 2NTU after 4 mg/L FNQE was added. The flocculation experiment with municipal wastewater and catering trade wastewater indicated that both the turbidity and c0lor removaI ratios were Iarger than 90%,and COD removal ratio was above 75 % ~80% when 6~ 10mg/L FNQE was added.
