Influence of Temperature on Streaming Current in Coagulation

ZONG Dong-liang, ZHANG Xi-hui, ZHANG Guang-ming (Research Center for Environmental Engineering & Management, Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University, Shengzhen 518057)  
The influence of temperature on streaming current in coagulation was investigated in this study. Results indicated that there was a negative growth of streaming current of colloids and the stability of colloids was strengthened with increase of temperature, which can also prolong the time needed to produce a net zero charge. Thus the optimal dosage increased. It was disadvantageous to coagulation to raise temperature. Waterworks should adjust the set value of streaming current based on temperature change.
