Measuring Beryllium and Thallium in Fish with Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy (GFAAS) was used to measure Be and Tl in fish. The fish sample was digested by HNO3-H2SO4 and oxidized with bromine, Tl was complexed and absorbed by polyurethane foam and removed matrix interference from inorganic salts while Be was not absorbed in the digested juice. The measurement results of Be and Tl by GFAAS was satisfactory.
