Crosslink Chitosan Microspheres: Preparation and Adsorption

XIE Ying, LI Ming-chun, XIN Mei-hua, ZHANG Xing-song, ZHAO Huang (School of Material Science and Engineering, Huaqiao University, Quanzhou 362021)  
The crosslink chitosan microspheres were prepared by inverse phase suspension method, with structure of microspheres characterized by FTIR and photomicroscope. The effect of time, pH, concentration of 2, 4-dichlorophenol and amount of microspheres on the adsorption efficiency of 2, 4-dichlorophenol were studied. Results indicated that microspheres were able to absorb 2, 4-dichlorophenol well, with removal efficiency up to 80% at pH of 7 and adsorption time of 2h.
