Heavy Metals in Sediment of Donglang Section of Guangzhou Segment in Pearl River

The content of heavy metals in sediment of Donglang section of Guangzhou segment in Pearl River were determined,five forms of heavy metals in sediment were extracted with Tessier five stage sequential extraction procedure,and AAS was applied to examine the concentration of heavy metals in sediment and extracts.Reseult showed that the sum of heavy metals,such as Cd,Pb,Cu,Cr were higher than the background value of soil,and different heavy metals have different value of five forms.Cd is existed as exchanged form,and Cr,Pb are existed as stable form,Cd is easy to resolve to water,and Cr,Pb are relatively stable in sediment.The ecological risk of these four heavy metals were assessed with Hakanson pontential ecological harmful index,which expressed that the ecological risk of Cd is high,and that of Cr,Cu,Pb is lower.
