Analysis of Organic Matter in Sediment and Soil with Ozonation Chemi-luminescence Method

A new on-site analytic technology is developed for organic matter in sediment and soil which,when reacted with ozone,would set off a phenomenon of chemi-luminescence.On the basis of the experiment with a prototype instrument,a chemi-luminescence kinetics curve was obtained,which was used to do qualitative/quantitative analysis of organics in sediment and soil.Effectiveness of this method was verified,and the result was compared with those of existing detection method.It was found that the chemi-luminescence kinetics curves of different samples of sediment and soil varied widely,thus a concept of organic matter fingerprint is suggested.
