Advance in Adsorptive Removal of Cr(Ⅵ) from Aqueous Solutions

Hexavalent chromium is one of important pollutants strictly controlled in industrial wastewater discharge.An overview of Cr(Ⅵ) removal by adsorption technology was presented,focusing on recent progress of adsorption research involved in natural clay,agricultural and forestry residues,polymers,resins,microbial flocculants and carbonaceous adsorbents.Adsorption mechanisms and factors associated with absorption performances were analyzed.Future prospective for the technology development was also proposed.
