Three patterns related to interplanting Litsea cubeba with Chinese fir in Jianou County were presented for the studies of the structure of the soil, the porousness of the soil, the moisture of the soil, the forest growing and the short time profit. The results show that the pattern not only incrcased a profit but improved the physical properties of the soil after the interplanting. Although the pattern of Chinese fir-Litsea cubeba-tobacco leaf and the pattern of Chinese fir-Litsea cubeba-soybean can profit better during a short time, they are unfavourable for the formation of a splendid structure of the soil due to the intensity of the cultivation.
