Effects of simulated acid rain on leaf membrane permeability of litchi

QIU Dong liang, LIU Xing hui, WANG Bao hua, CHEN Lie (Department of Horticulture, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, Fujian 350002, China)
Effects of simulated acid rain with various pH values on leaf in different stages of litchi( Litchi chinensis Sonn.) were studied. The results were as follows: the resistance of growing leaf to acid was the strongest; the leakage amount of soluble sugar, K +, Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ of litchi increased with the decline of the pH value of simulated acid rain, and the cell membrane permeability increased. The leakage amount of K + could be regarded as an important index for evaluating the injury of acid rain to litchi leaf.
