Inter-simple sequence repeat analysis on genetic polymorphism of Eichhornia crassipes from different water area in Fujian Province

The inter-simple sequence repeat(ISSR) approach was employed to detect the genetic diversity of 12 Eichhornia crassipes collected from different water area in Fujian Province.Twenty pairs of ISSR primers that generated clear,reproducible banding patterns were chosen for ISSR analysis of DNA in E.crassipes. The result showed that 150 polymorphic bands were generated by the selected 20 pairs of ISSR primers for the analysis of the collected 12 samples,and 75 bands were explained by polymorphic bands,performing the percentage of polymorphic bands by 50.0%.The averages of Shannon index of phenotypic diversity(0.2739) and Nei′s index(0.1894) within populations were relatively low,but distinct genetic differentiation was detected.The result from the clustering analysis by unweighted pair group method arithmetic average indicated that 12 E.crassipes individuals included 3 groups on the premise that the genetic distance was 0.40,the first group came from the pool inside the campus of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University,the second group came from inner river Jinshan,while all the samples from Min River,Jiulong River,Mulanxi and Jin River were clustered into the third group.
