The Relationship Between Soil Condition and Quality of Tobacco in Fujian Tobacco Region

The suitable degree of soil condition for growing Fujian tobacco shows following tendency: purple mud field, moist sand fieldyellow mud field, marl fieldblack mud field and cold-slush field. The character of soil fertility in Fujian tobacco region is heavy texture, too strong acidity, excessive organic matter and nitrogen, rich phosphorus, serious deficiency of potassium, general shortage of boron and lower amount of chloride ion. Total sugar and sugar-alkali ratio in tobacco leaf are very significantly positive correlation with soil pH and tobacco alkali is very significantly possitive correlation with soil total nitrogen.
