The characteristics of super high-yielding hybrid rice

XIE Hua-an, WANG Wu-qi, YANG Hui-jie, YANG Gao-qun, LI Yi-zhen (Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Fuzhou, Fujian 350003, China; Lijiang Agricultural Institute, Lijiang, Yunnan 674100, China)  
The trial on performance of super high-yielding hybrid rice Teyou 175 and I youming 86 were carried out in Taoyuan Town, Yongsheng County, Yunnan Province in 2001. The results showed that the highest yield of Teyou 175 and II youming 86 reached 17. 78 t. hm-2and 17. 95 t . hm~2 respectively and broke the world record of the rice yield in a single cropping season. Super high-yielding mainly owed to larger sink size and higher biomass production. Super high-yielding hybrid rice had larger sink size which mainly depended on large panicle and had dry matter accumulative superiority and higher crop growth rate (CGR.) during the middle and late periods. The CGR of Teyou 175 and I youming 86 increased by 34. 5% - 37. 2% and 31. 4% respectively than that of Shanyou 63.
