Primary Research on Karenia mikimotoi Bloom in Fujian Coast

Long Hua~1,Du Qi~2 (1.College of Life Science,Xiamen Univesity,2.Fujian Fisheries Research Institute,Xiamen,361012 China)
We made a primary research on Karenia mikimotoi Hansen bloom during May and June,2003.It was found out that heavy rainfall, strong illumination, stable air temperature and good sea status were the necessary conditions for K.mikimotoi bloom's outbreak and development. To K.mikimotoi, the suitable temperature ranged between 20 and 24℃,the suitable salinity ranged from 27.9 to 30.5.The cell density of K.mikimotoi had positive correlation with nutrition index and phosphate concentration.
