Study on Effect of Different Gypsums for Properties of Low Alkalinity Steel Slag Product

Using XRD, SEM, TG and a method admixed impurity into pure gypsum,we studied the effects of different purity gypsums for compressive strength of low alkalinity steel slag product under hydrothermal condition. Experiment showed, their activation effects were different obviously for the autoclaved low alkalinity steel slag products at 185℃. Because of higher purity gypsum excess (relative excess), local enrichment of gypsum restrains dissolution of Ca~(2+) in steel slag and the hydrothermal reaction of low alkalinity steel slag admixed higher purity gypsum, and decreases the compressive strength of autoclaved steel slag products. Lower purity gypsum can be well distributed in steel slag by low concentration, and availably enhance the compressive strength of the autoclaved low alkalinity steel slag products. So, using low purity gypsum in it is an effective choice.
