Organic Surface Modifi cation of Nano-Attapulgite with Silane Coupling Reagent

Organic surface modification of nano-attapulgite with silane coupling reagent LM-N308 was studied.According to the results of FT-IR and HRTEM,it was inferred that the LM-N308 was bound with about 6.1% on the surface of nano-attapulgite particles,and an organic coating layer also formed.The surface property of nano-attapulgite modified with LM-N308 was changed from hydrophilicity to hydrophobicity,and the strength and toughness of the composite material was improved by adding modified nano-attapulgite.
