Attapulgite Modified by Quaternary Ammonium Salt and Its Application to Oily Waste Water

The attapulgite was modified by quaternary ammonium salt.The preferable conditions were determined by the study of the effect of modified temperature,modified time and the amount of quaternary ammonium salt on the COD removal efficiency of oily waste water.The results show that the COD removal efficiency of modified attapulgite could reach 98.40% under the conditions of the modified temperature was 80℃,the modified time was 90m in,the amount of quaternary ammonium salt was 6%.The oil removal rate increased with the increasing of the relative molecular weight of quaternary ammonium salt.And the modified attapulgite was characterized by TG-DTA and FTIR.
