Study on the Treatment of Reactive Black KN-B Dye Wastewater with Modified Attapulgite

Ma Yongmei Ji Qing Chen Xiaoliang (Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Huai’an, Jiangsu 223003)  
The highly effective cheap adsorbent PDMDAAC-attapulgite has been developed for advanced treatment of water facing that many places are lacking of water worse and worse.PDMDAAC-attapulgite was made from poly dimethyldiallylammonium chloride and attapulgite.Reactive black KN-B dye wastewater was treated with this modified attapulgite.Experimental results showed that when the concentration of reactive black dye was 20 mg/L,the amount of adsorbent was 0.03 %,pH value was 8.0,shaking adsorption time was 60 min,the decoloring rate could reach up to 98.3 %.The adsorption amount was 65.5 mg/g.
