A Review of Social Supporting System for Left-behind Children in China

Social supporting system consists of the near-end support and far-end support,the former being the daily close contact between individuals and the latter being direct or indirect relation to individuals.These supports can be perceived,evaluated and used by individuals.Left-behind children are not equal to problem children.Social support,as a protective factor,has positive influences on both the physical and psychological health of left-behind children.However,the researches of social support system for left-behind children still remain on the level of description,and the researches of intervention are lacking.The future researches need a set of systematic and comprehensive measuring tools.Meanwhile,the studies of the roles of social supporting system should be carried out from the sensitiveness,appropriateness and dynamic of intervention.
