Experimental Study of Effect of Fly Ash on Bond Performance of Sand in Cement

This paper concentrates on the influence of the amount and fineness of fly ash and curing age on the properties, such as flowability, strength and absorption, of cement mortar. Under the condition of the above factors, the rule of fly ash is gained. The results show that its flowability increases and its water amount needed decreases with the increasing content of fly ash or specific surface area, that is to say, fly ash has good plasticizing effect; with the increasing content of fly ash its strength decreases at early age and increases faster later, its water absorption decreases and its permeability increases ; the larger the specific surface area of fly ash is, the higher the strength of cement mortar and the smaller the water absorption of cement mortar will be.
