Effects of Fly Ash on Wear Resistant Ability of Concrete
he effects of the amount of fly ash on wear resistant ability of concrete at different ages were studied. The results showed that: the wear resistant ability of concrete reduced as the amount of fly ash increased at early age, but the wear resistant ability of concrete increased as the amount of fly ash increased at later age; when the amount of fly ash was 30%, the wear resistant ability of concrete at later age was the best; due to low activity of fly ash, the mix of fly ash would reduce wear resistant ability of concrete at early age; the high wear resistant ability of fly ash particles and the pozzolanic action of fly ash at later age were the main reasons improving the wear resistant ability of concrete at later age.
