ANALYSIS FOR SINTERING PROCESS OF PCBN WITH DOPANTS Al+TiC_(0.47)+B

For the synthetic PCBN with dopants Al + TiC0.47 + B, the chemical reactions, the changes of the relative quantities of phases, the action of new phase and the changes of CBN grits in the system during sintering at high temperature and high pressure were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction analysis. The results showed that after sintering of Al + TiC0.47 + B and CBN at high temperature and high pressure, binder phase consisting of refractory compounds such as AlN,AlB2, TiN, TiB2, TiC etc. was formed among CBN grits, and in which AlNrestrained effectively the transformation from CBN into HBN.
