EFFECTS OF Al CONTENT ON COMBUSTION SYNTHESISED OF Ti_3AlC_2

Effect of Al content(27%、33%、38%) on combustion synthesised Ti3AlC2 made from Ti、Al and C as raw materials with a molar ration of Ti/C of 2∶1 was studied The mechanism of influence of Al on Ti3AlC2 was investigated based on themodynamics and Ti-Al-C phase diagram.The experiment results show that the combustion synthesised Ti3AlC2 was affected greatly by Al content,the main phase of product was Ti3AlC2,however,minor phase was different,when Al content was low,minor phase was TiC;when Al content was high minor phase was Al3Ti.The purity of Ti3AlC2 was the highest,when Al content was 33%.
