FEM Analysis of Density Flaw of Ceramic Powders during Cold Isostatic Pressing

The FEM numerical simulation to imitate the CIP process of ceramic powder component is introduced by the aid of the FEM software MSC.MARC. The technique problems of FEM are fully discussed. The flow of the ceramic powders and the distribution of the density are analyzed with the aid of FEM software. It is shown that the geometry figure of the ceramic powder component and shape of mandril have great influence on the consolidation of powder component. The simulation results are useful for the optimization design of the isostatic pressing technique.
