WEI Li,LU Chun-lei,ZHANG Hai-feng.Department of Respiration,the People's Hospital of Linyi,Linyi 276003,China
Objective:To compare the influence on the pulmonary function between laparoscopic and open splenectomy.Methods:Thirty-eight cases intended to splenectomy were randomly divided into two groups(the laparoscopic group and the open group),with 19 cases in each.Forced vital capacity(FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1) of each patient were examined 1 d preoperatively and 24 h postoperatively. Results:There was no significant difference in FVC and FEV1 between the two groups the day before operation(P0.05).However,the FVC and FEV1 of laparoscopic group were better than those of open group 24 h after operation(P0.05).Conclusions:The influence on the pulmonary function of laparoscopic splenectomy is less than that of open splenectomy.Laparoscopic splenectomy has advantages of minimal invasiveness and little influence on respiratory system.
