This paper reports the determination results of matural radionuclides ~(238)U,~(226)Ra,~(232)Th and~(40)K in the raw materials(mainly zirconium sand,the principal compound ZrSiO_4),semi-product(ZrC,ZrCl_4),residue and end product zirconium in a process of producing zirconium.Thedetermination was performed with NaI(Tl)γ spectrometry.The results show that the raw materials,semi-product and residue contain some radioactivity so that radiation protection measures should betaken in processing,while end product zirconium contains almost no radioactivity so it may safely beused in production and living areas.
